A new concept for this area, a family daycare has finally opened up in Vasto, offering flexible hours and a family-oriented insertion process for your child. "L'ISOLA CHE NON C'È" is a nido (for babies and toddlers), a scuola materna (ages 3 -5), and offers after-school programs for older children, summer programs, and arts and crafts programs. If your family is relocating to the Vasto - San Salvo area, whether temporarily or permanently, this daycare is the perfect solution. Unlike the other "school-type" daycares in the area where you are asked to leave your child and let him scream, this daycare is centered around family so parents can stay with their children as long as they want so they get used to the surroundings and the caretakers. Parents can also participate in the arts and crafts programs with their children, and spend time with their children in the daycare anytime they want. Another plus: no "iscrizione" ahead of time is needed! For other daycares and kindergartens, you need to sign up as much as 6 months in advance. In this family center/daycare, you can buy a block of hours and use it up during the month or sign up for the half-day or full day at any time throughout the year.
A couple of other points really impressed us when we visited this place: the fenced garden for children to play in (a perfect place for a birthday party), the meals the children eat (healthy and home-cooked), and the fact that this daycare supplies diapers, change of clothes, non-slip socks, and anything your child might need while they are there!

We think this daycare is really something special for the area. Maybe that's partly because it's run by an ex-pat, who based all of the services she offers on the services she felt were lacking when her children were younger.
