HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
The earliest documentation of this town dates back to the 9th century, when it was called Candidus (meaning white). The name of the town now means "white house". Archaeological findings show that the area was inhabited during Roman times. During the Middle Ages the main lords were from the De Letto family. In the 18th century, power was passed to the Valignani family.
