 Elevation: 600 meters Population: 950 Zip code: 66010 Civitella Messer Raimondo is located in the western side of the province of Chieti, next to the river Aventino. Like many old medieval towns, Civitella had district. Many district formed a town. They are called Calazzotto, Gallo, Selva and la Fonte.  HISTORICAL FACTS Being a medieval town, the earliest written records that mention the town come back from the 1200s. But recently, in the Fonte Liberatori district, a mosaic pavement was found that dates back to Roman times and it testifies that there was some kind of living nucleus in that area. During the feudal times, the Baglioni family ruled the town.
