Colledimezzo is situated on the very top the Castellano hill, next to the river Sangro.
The view is breathtaking, thanks to the crystal clear waters of the artificial lake of the Sangro river and because of the position where this town was built. A part of this town has disappeared because of the many mud slides that keep happening in that area.

The first mentions of this town where from the 12th century. In the late 17th century, the town became property of the D’Avalos family of Vasto. It was always controlled by one family. By the end of the feudal times, the town was free again.

WHAT TO SEE
The church of San Giovanni, with a lot of artisan iron work done.
D’Avalos castle is being recently restored and now it is a non profit cultural association.
Fantastic view and great place for photography, as you can see.
