Elevation: 550 meters Population: 1,150 Furci is located near Vasto, near the river Treste and Sinello. It has a fantastic view and that is why it is also known as the “Adriatic terrace”.
HISTORICAL FACTSThrough some archeological findings, evidence of a social life happening in the early second century was there thanks to the recovery of some coins dating on the year 100 after Christ. After that, there was a long period of dark ages, where there were no news or mentions regarding Furci. But during the feudal times, Furci is back on the map. The count Odorisio was ruling the area and that was the time when the village was flourishing. Furci was also famous for being the motherland of the Agostiniane priest Beato Angelo, considered a great thaumaturge, which cult is based in Abruzzo and Molise. As a matter of fact, every year on the 13th of September there is a pilgrimage.
