Gamberale is located on the mount Sant’Antonio, near the Sangro river.Gamberale.jpg HISTORICAL FACTS
It is definitely a Medieval town but as usual, not many written records are available until after the 12th century. In the 15th century it was part of the feudal family of the Anichino and then in the 18th century it was part of the Mascitelli family of Atessa. The name Gamberale comes from a german name (Gamhall) that means “associate”. The first time that the town was mentioned was in the 12th century as Gambarum. It was a militian feudal and it was hold by Raynaldus Gentilis.
