Roccaspinalveti is located in the vicinities of Vasto (about 30 kms), in the hills of the comunità montana.

HISTORICAL FACTS
Roccaspinalveti is a newer town. Many years ago, the town was divided in 5 different districts. It was kind of 5 different villages, all later on put together under one name. Once, an earthquake and a mud slide levelled some of those districts, so they all decided to build their houses on top of the hills, sitting on a rock, in order to avoid other dangerous accidents. That is when Roccaspinalveti was created. The old name in the 17th century was Rocca Spina Oliveta, then changed to Rocca Vecchia and then finally to Roccaspinalveti.
This area was part of the transumanza, shepherd track.
