San Giovanni Lipioni is a small village, right on the border to Molise. It is considered the last village of the province of Chieti, being so close to the border.

HISTORICAL FACTS
The antique origins of this hamlet are testified thanks to a drawing piece of art now sitting at the National library of Paris. During Roman times, there was a city hall (municipium Terventum) called Terventum, then the name changed to San Giovanni Lupino and then to San Giovanni Lipioni in the 17th century.

WHAT TO SEE

- Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, built in 1504 and hen refurbished in baroque style in the 18th century.
- Old fountain built in the early 1800s.
